The Hertfordshire SEND Quality Offer

In accordance with the Children and Families Act 2014, Hertfordshire's Quality SEND Offer describes the special educational provision that families can expect to be available for children and young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Please see document below.

The Hertfordshire Local Offer

The Local Offer lets parents and young people know what special educational needs and disability services are available in Hertfordshire, and who can access them.

Please find below some links to specific pages which you may find useful.

Services for parents, carers and families - From this page you can find all the different types of support that parents and carers of children and young people with SEND might be able to access, including information on support groups, mental health, parenting courses and how to access services such as SENDIASS.

Getting help at school from your SENDCo - This page explains what the role of a SENCO is, and how parents and SENDCo's can work together to achieve the best results for a pupil. It may help you to work with a parent and set out for them what to expect and how to ensure things run smoothly.

My child is too anxious to go to school - This page is designed to help parents whose children’s attendance is low due to anxiety, and has advice on how to support them and where to go for help.

Contact a SEND service - This page has contact details of the different SEND services, including details of Advice Line for EPs, the SLCA team, the SpLD team and others.

New to SEND - This page has information and advice for those whose children have just been diagnosed with SEND, or have suspected SEND.

ADHD and Autism Support in Hertfordshire from Local Offer - The Autism and ADHD transformation programme, which includes Hertfordshire County Council, NHS trusts, HPCI and local voluntary organisations, has been working hard to improve services for families and young people.

A key area of work has been ensuring you know where you can go to access support in your local area. This will hopefully help you get access to support as early as you can.

To find out more about the support available please watch this 3-minute animation or visit the Herts Local Offer.
