Welcome from Mrs Barton
Firstly, can I say thank you for taking the time to look around our school website.
I have been the headteacher at Brookland Junior School for just over 3 years. I am immensely proud to lead a dedicated team, but most of all, I am proud of all the amazing children we have at Brookland.
As my staff will tell you, my vision is very clear and that is to put the children at the centre of everything we do. Spending time with the children is the best part of my day! Saying good morning or just checking in is such a special part of my school day.
Along with my team, we have worked very hard to continue to make improvements to the school. Our last Ofsted was extremely pleasing and verified what a fantastic school Brookland is and this is something we continue to improve.
Having two children of my own, I know how important it is to ensure children have a nurturing, happy and safe place when they are at school. This is something we strive to provide for our children at Brookland.
As the children in our school will tell you, I am very competitive (positively), especially when it comes to my house, Ruby, being the winning house each week. The children love belonging to one of our 4 houses; Amber, Emerald, Ruby or Sapphire. The staff also enjoy being part of a house team, everyone's competitive nature certainly comes to the fore on sports day. The best part of being in a house is the Brookland Sorting Hat, telling you which house you are in.
One of my favourite times of the week is our celebration assembly. Children are awarded Headteachers' Awards linked to our school values. It is very rewarding to share and celebrate the children's achievements and successes.
I have very high expectations of everyone who is a part of our Brookland community and I believe in working in close partnership with our parents to get the best outcomes for our children.
I do hope you enjoy looking through the rest of our website and find everything you need here, but if you don't, then please do give my office team a call, who will be more than happy to help.
Kind regards,
Mrs Barton
