The Curriculum
Creative Learning Journey itself, Principles and use.
The Creative Learning Journey is a comprehensive set of aesthetically engaging resources, designed to appeal to children staff and parents. It comprises of a skills continuum from Nursery to Year 6, supported by thematic wheels which are designed to form the school’s medium-term plans. A website also lets you access pre-prepared wheels or allows teachers to design and customise wheels to the school’s individual requirements. It also provides an assessment framework which will be tailored to Brookland Junior and Infant schools’ requirements.
Rationale
The Creative Learning Journey, underpinned by the key principles of ‘Every Child Matters’ is a curriculum for schools in the 21st Century. It is preparing children for a future world with which we are still unfamiliar.
The impact on children’s ability and experiences of enjoying and achieving is already producing impressive results in pilot schools. The cross-curricular elements have fostered a high level of enthusiasm and a thirst for more knowledge and understanding, underpinned by key skills and attitudes.
Current learning techniques
